About
the concert:
In 1640, just three years before he died, Claudio Monteverdi published three big volumes of sacred music, composed since his arrival to Venice in 1613. As one of most prominent composers of the whole Italy, he established himself as the greatest composer of his time in both secular and sacred music. His operas were often performed, and his post at San Marco gave him prominent exposure. This concert, featuring New Trinity Baroque vocal and instrumental soloists and directed by Predrag Gosta, will present most beautiful compositions from his 1640 collection "Selva Morale e Spirituale" for voices, violins, cello, chitarrone, harpsichord and organ...
