Kathleen
Duguet
develops a comprehensive approach to making music
by performing on recorder, traverso, and baroque
and modern oboes. Playing regularly with the New
York Collegium, The Bach Ensemble and Handel and
Haydn Society among others, Kathleen is also the
co-founder of RHETORIC, a chamber music ensemble
performing four centuries of music on authentic
instruments. She was a finalist in Early Music America’s
Bodky Competition, and in the Early Music Network’s
International Chamber Music Competition. Kathleen
has recently completed a recording for Dorian of
music for two oboes by Jan Dismas Zelenka. Originally
from Naples, Florida, Kathleen followed her music
to Eastman and Indiana University before moving
to New York.
"...
Duguet, on baroque oboe, played with high energy
and an equal amount of accuracy."
"... Duguet plays her flauto traverso nimbly
and with delightful ornamentation and she tosses
all her difficult leaps and skips off with ease."
